About Ngoma:
Poet Performer Ngoma is a performance poet, multi-instrumentalist, singer/songwriter and paradigm shifter, who for over 30 years has used culture as a tool to raise sociopolitical and spiritual consciousness through work that encourages critical thought. A former member of the SPIRIT HOUSE MOVERS AND PLAYERS with Amiri Baraka and the Contemporary Freedom Song Duo, SERIOUS BIZNESS, Ngoma weaves poetry and song that raises contradictions and searches for a solution for a just and peaceful world.

Ngoma was the Prop Slam winner of the 1997 National Poetry Slam Competition in Middletown,CT and was recently publishd in AFRICAN VOICES MAGAZINE, LONG SHOT ANTHOLOGY and THE UNDERWOOD REVIEW. He was featured in the PBS Spoken Word Documentary, "The Apro-Poets" with Allen Ginsberg.

Ngoma's weekly open mic series at THE SUGAR SHACK in Harlem was voted by the VILLAGE VOICE as being "the best spot for poetry in NYC for the year 2000." His latest CD release, "Ngoma-Paradigm Shiftin' (ancient--->future)" and his CD Movie Documentary "Paradigm Shiftin", takes Jazz/Funk/Fusion and the Spoken Word to the next level. Look for his work in the new Random House publishing release "BUM RUSH THE PAGE/ DEF POETRY JAM ANTHOLOGY".

About this Disk:
This is a Video CD or VCD for short. VCD's were the precursors of DVD's and became very popular in Japan. While the VCD phenomenon escaped the view of most of the US market, the makers of DVD players put the capability to play VCD's in thier players. Today the vast majority of DVD players can play VCD's as well as MP3 CD's and other home created video disks.
