Productions LLC Releases Ngoma: Alive and In Your Face from NYC.
Hackensack,
New Jersey---February 21, 2002- InnerVisions Productions LLC released
their newest video disk and follow up to Ngoma's first video "Paradigm
Shiftin'",entitled Ngoma: Alive and In Your Face from
New York City, a DVD player compatible disk known as a VCD.
This disk plays in most players ( go to www.innervisionsproductions.com/product/players/
for a list of tested players) and plays in most Computer DVD and
CD drives via software such as WINDVD, MacVCD and MacVCDX.
Poet Performer Ngoma is a performance poet, multi-instrumentalist,
singer/songwriter and paradigm shifter, who for over 30 years has
used culture as a tool to raise sociopolitical and spiritual consciousness
through work that encourages critical thought. A former member of
the SPIRIT HOUSE MOVERS AND PLAYERS with Amiri Baraka and the Contemporary
Freedom Song Duo, SERIOUS BIZNESS, Ngoma weaves poetry and song
that raises contradictions and searches for a solution for a just
and peaceful world.
Ngoma
was the Prop Slam winner of the 1997 National Poetry Slam Competition
in Middletown,CT and was recently publishd in AFRICAN VOICES MAGAZINE,
LONG SHOT ANTHOLOGY and THE UNDERWOOD REVIEW. He was featured in
the PBS Spoken Word Documentary, "The Apro-Poets" with Allen Ginsberg.
Ngoma's weekly open mic series at THE SUGAR SHACK in Harlem was
voted by the VILLAGE VOICE as being "the best spot for poetry in
NYC for the year 2000." His latest CD release, "Ngoma-Paradigm Shiftin'
(ancient--->future)" and his CD Movie Documentary "Paradigm Shiftin",
takes Jazz/Funk/Fusion and the Spoken Word to the next level. Look
